Sonic Music

Who doesn't like the soothing sound of Rammstein in the morning?

Sonic Music

HOLY SHIT A SONIC TOPIC

Anyway, I've always adored the music in Sonic games, always. I used to kind of hate the Japanese Sonic CD soundtrack, but now I'm rather addicted to it. I still like the US and Japanese soundtracks equal though.

Also, Sonic introduced me to Crush 40. I FUCKING LOVE CRUSH 40. Maybe it's because it's new metal in the style of old, maybe it's Johnny's voice, I dunno. All I know is that I've liked every song they've ever done (including the less then stellar All Hail Shadow and the repetitive Seven Rings in Hand, but hey, the originals weren't much to work with anyway), and I am extremely excited for their new album. It's been awhile since I've heard them do anything non-Sonic related, and I wanna hear their new stuff.

So, then, I guess we can talk about the music genius that was Dreams Come True of the original games, the delightful Richard Jacques every SEGA nerd loves, the spectacular Jun Senoue who is working at SEGA instead of being a rock star, etc. etc.

Of course, my favorite Sonic soundtrack so far is Sonic Adventure 2's. I love me some rock music, especially cheesy 80's-flavored rock. But I'm more curious as to yours, if you even like Sonic soundtracks at all.

IN HIS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRLD!

It had to be said.

I actually like that song, just not that Zebrahead version.

Dreams of an Absolution is a damn fine song, especially the remix.

Sonic music has always been one of the my favourites (since I have a high collection upto Sonic Heroes as well as Rush and Rush 2, haven't tried any after them). The only ones I don't like are Tails' Sky Patrol and a couple of tracks here and there.

My favourite Sonic soundtracks are: Sonic 1 (PAL Mode for sentimental reasons), Sonic 2, the MJ-style Sonic 3, Sonic 1 (MS) ,2 (MS/GG), Chaos, R (yes...), Fighters, Tails Adventure (since I tagged that), Sonic 3D, Sonic CD (original) and Triple Trouble.

Oh and Naofumi Hataya, Masashi Ogata (Sonic 2 Master System and Sonic CD), Yuzo Koshiro (Sonic 1 GG) and Koujiro Mikusa are underrated Sonic composers even though I like Masato Nakamura, Richard Jacques and the rest of the Sega Sound Team just as much.

If ANYONE CAN FIND THE DS SOUNDTRACK TO MARIO AND SONIC AT THE OLYMPICS, THEY CAN HAVE A REQUEST.

Fun fact: Dreams of an Absolution was actually composed by Lee Brotherton AKA LeeBro, if you've downloaded a bunch of remixes from OCRemix, you may already have some of his stuff. But yeah, it's the best song from Sonic 2006. I honestly didn't like much else from that one's soundtrack much, from what I listened to.

In any case, the best Sonic soundtracks are from the 90s. Hard to choose which one's my favorite, probably Sonic 2. I like all of them from that era.

I swear they fucking ruined this song in Sonic 2006. Jesus Christ.

I have to admit the English lyrics are terrible no matter what, though. They're probably the same as the Japanese ones, but at least I can't understand them.

...Did not know that. The thing about Dreams of an Absolution, I mean. That's pretty cool.

As a soundtrack overall, Sonic 06 was okay. There are definitely songs that just stand out above all of the rest. Dreams of an Absolution, His World etc.

Fun fact: My favorite soundtrack would probably have to be Sonic 3.
