First off, let me apologize for my rage. Sorry about that, though I'm still pissed off.

Look, guys... This is what we're looking at: the SQL database table for the posts of the forum (i.e. the whole point of the forum) is fucked up and will not load to the new server because the spam section has produced lines of code that are so massive that they cannot be processed.

I'm going to try to fix it, but bear in mind that there are close to 10,000 posts in the spam section, and more than half of them are the kind that fuck up the database. The way it looks now, I'm going to have to trawl through 50,000 posts and delete the offending posts one at a time.

This can't be done with the software in a browser. I have to look at the raw code with notepad and use the delete key.

That's upwards of 5,000 posts that have to be manually deleted.

Unless I am able to pull a miracle out of my ass, this is going to take time, or it might not happen at all. I have to figure this out.

I had a suspicion that the spam section would cause trouble.

Well that sounds none too pleasant a thing to work with.

And it did piss me off that every post in the spam section was the same image 30 times in a row...

If you ever get it running, is it possible to limit the number of images allowed per post? I know nothing about coding, but yeah.

We'll have to put serious limits on something if and when it gets back. If nothing else, rules will have to be put in place.

You might be able to read your PMs, actually. I'm not sure.

A brief update: I've been cutting large chunky posts out of the SQL table all day, but I have yet to come remotely close to making a version that will upload.

I think what I need to do is get a script written that can go through the file, identify the problematic posts and automatically delete them. That would be the easiest way to do it, but I'm not a programmer.

Planet Freedom is up because people want a place to post and have fun.

We need YCP because PF does not support all of the functionality of YCP. Plus there are ads. Plus we can't customize it to the extent that we can YCP.

I thought that was self-evident.

Just a suggestion...couldn't you just delete the spam section entirely and make a new one? There wasn't anything worth saving in there anyway.

Actually, that's not a bad idea, except that the SQL files is massive (covering all 50,000 posts) and is in chronological order, not categorical order.

I had thought of just deleting the whole spam section last night, when I was working with Seth really actively on this issue. But the trouble is that we'd need to be in the forum software to do that. And we can't access the forum software.
