Seriously, what is it?

My shyness has actually creeped everyone at school, and I feel like I need to change.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this. I felt that it fit in both society and venting.

This is a question I would have asked, one year ago. Today, I'm no longer looking for a social life, because I found a few friends who share the same interests as me, and I enjoy talking with them enough. I used to think I was hated by everyone, but it's actually that they just don't care, and I never talked to them in the first place. I've realized that I do not need to try to please everyone. I say, try finding people who share the same interests with you. It will make high school a whole lot better. I know it has made my year better, because I hated being a Freshman. I felt so lonely. And yeah, my answer doesn't really answer your question, but your experience sounds similar to mine.

Yeah, what he said. You don't NEED a completely filled social life just because it's what people think is normal... Just find people who like the same stuff and go be social with them if you want to.

Going out on social tirades is fine if you want to do it, but don't feel like you have to. Of course, it's good to do it sometimes. BALANCE IS KEY

Yes. I see where you're going at, but it's just that even my friends think I'm creepy, and I feel that I need to be less like myself and change me to make it at least where I'm not scaring people.

What about you is scaring your friends?

Not quite sure. It might be that they think my quiet nature is threatening or that they seem to think I stare at them menacingly.

Of course my intentions aren't to harm anyone or scare anyone. I just get very peeved with what goes on in my life.

I wouldn't know what makes a good social life because I haven't had a single friend in over five years. I never talk...

Yeah, they're great and all, but I just want to show that I can be a nice, peaceful person without having to actually talk

That used to be my problem. My own friends used to never talk to me, because my responses are usually bored and unamusing. My intentions are not to harm, I was just a very boring person. If they like games, maybe if they talk about it, maybe you could have input in that conversation as well. But yeah, I understand you. I still don't talk THAT much. That sucks, my current friends aren't really afraid of my quiet nature. Heck, I don't even like talking that much.
