And a better layout. In the SNES version, the HUD is on top of everything, but in the Genesis version, the HUD is in its own section on the side. The two versions also look no different aside from the grass and whatnot being different colors.

This is the only game where I was able to figure out for myself with no help from any 3rd party the password to get to the 0th level. BCDF

Although, in reality, the first 4 characters really isn't that hard for anyone guessing passwords
